BIOGRAPHY
Julia Shicatano is a graduate of Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts where she received a B.F.A degree in Dance Performance and Ed.M degree in Dance Education. Julia has recently appeared in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast At Walnut Street Theatre, Six Flags Great Adventure Dead Man’s Party, national commercials, modeled for Matrix Hair, and worked with RWS Entertainment in New York City. In addition to performing, Julia is a professor at Rutgers University and judges for National Dance Competitions across the East Coast and Midwest.
Julia teaches in the collegiate and K-12 school setting as well as the private dance school Washington Rock Dance Academy (NJ) and Angela Bates Dance Academy (PA) to students in a variety of styles including ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hip-hop, improvisation, choreography, creative movement, and yoga/pilates. Julia has also presented her own fitness master class, Mat Fusion, in multiple fitness and dance studios in Pennsylvania. As a teaching artist, she recognizes the potential in each one of her students. It is her goal to see the self-esteem and skill-set consistently rise within her dancers as they find their unique aesthetics and tap into their creative mindsets. She finds joy in sharing her art and passion with others and takes pride in teaching those who are eager to expand their minds and skills.
